As a High
School student athlete who may or may not play sports in
college; the best thing you can do to enhance your chances to
get into that school is to attend summer programs at the school
in your area of interest
|
 |
If you
are applying to very competitive schools: Ivy league, NESCAC or
Patriot League, you need to take college courses for credit
while still in High School.
|
 |
Community
service, volunteering, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Leadership
councils are all excellent vehicles which help "enhance" your
application when applying to top schools.
|
 |
The most
important thing you can do as a student-athlete besides
performing well when a coach comes to watch you play, is to make
your unofficial visit to the school and spend quality time with
the coaching staff and players on the team. This really cements
your commitment to the school and makes the college coach's life
a lot easier.
|
 |
The NCAA is
currently proposing legislation to end early verbal commitments
to a prospect prior to July 1 at the end of their Junior year.
Only verbals after July 1 would be honored

Did you know a 4.0 GPA does not
necessarily guarantee admission to your top academic schools in
the country? Strength of your academic schedule (classes) is
considered more important and getting good grades in those
classes than a 4.0 GPA in level 2 and 3 classes.
|
 |
Did you know the number of softball
scholarships? There are 12 scholarships for D1 softball and 7.2
for D2. Schools can split the scholarships up and separate it
amongst all of their players. The better grades you have the
more money you will get.
|
 |
Did you know once you take your
PSATs schools will start to contact you based on your results?
Score well on the PSATs and you will see plenty of interest from
schools come your way.
|
 |
Did you know the commitment level
for playing sports at the college level? For D1 baseball they
can play/practice 154 days in an academic year, D2 141, D3 has
three set seasons which are very restrictive.
|
 |
Did you know NCAA rules for
communicating with college coaches? If you want to play sports
at the next level you can email and call coaches but Division 1
and 2 coaches cannot contact you before July 1 of your senior
year. Division 3 coaches can contact you anytime.

"I want to thank you very much for
taking the time yesterday to come out to our house to meet with
Greg, myself and my wife Kathy. We are all very grateful for
your visit and opening our eyes even more to this process. My
only regret is that we didn't register with NoticeME earlier in
this process. Greg is really a good kid and he is worthy of an
opportunity to take his passion for soccer to the collegiate
level." - Art Smedberg, parent of Southington High School
and Academica Futebol Club student-athlete.
|
 |
"Perfect program and website to help
find a college for your son or daughter. Great visibility for
our daughter to college coaches with a service that provides answers
to all our questions with a college consultant, not on some website.
Its like having a coach taking you through the college selection
process for our daughter." - Pete Marcucilli, parent of
Cheshire High School student athlete.

“Saturday in Middletown was a great
event and my son enjoyed it very much, please contact me about

"The video is
just what we need to see the mechanics of the recruit. We
utilize video to confirm it is worth inviting prospect to on
campus camps or for our staf to go recruit them during the
summer season." Erin
Layton, Head Coach URI, Rams |
 |
"This is the
kind of video I wish we would get from all of our
prospects. It is short concise, clear and very informative
with the times and showing all of the skills being
performed. I would be interested in recruiting this kid!!"
- Wayne Smith, Hobart College, Head Coach |

“Well
organized, lots of info. I thought you guys put on a quality
event.” – Roger Brown, ESPN Recruits |

“Hello NFS2010 Staff, - I just have
to say, my son and I were happy to have gone to our first show
case experience. Your program, with emphasis on different
issues, was enlightening and inspirational! It was very sincere
and honest to my son and me. G.P.A., training,
diet, I get it, and I hope my son gets it now and redirects some
of his free time to what he really wants in life. He is in 11th
grade and was able to talk to the Yale coach individually.
Then asked for a business card from the New Haven coach at the
end with out any advise from dad. That's a WOW ! in itself. He
came back home with more tools to use for later use, of course I
re-emphasized what your coaches said some more along the way
home. As he progresses from here and forward, I'm sure he will
benefit from his experience he got Saturday in the long run as
person. I wished his younger brother who is in 10th grade
attended but he was very sick at the time. From my son and me,
thank you very much to your staff at the Middletown event.
Sincerely, Robert Burnham” – Parent of participant.
