Tony
Horta - Soccer
President and Founder of the AFC Soccer Club. Horta
coached at the collegiate level for the Quinnipiac
women’s soccer team for nine years - developing a
nationally ranked program while winning three
Northeast-10 Conference Championships. He was also
involved with the Olympic Development Program and serves
on the CJSA Premier Board of Governors. Horta is
President of Academica Futebol Club (AFC), a premier
program in Connecticut. Horta has also coached at the
professional level. In 1987, he was named Coach of the
Year in the LASA league and most recently guided
Academica FC in the Arena Soccer League.

Maria
Conlon - Women's Basketball - CT and N.E.
Maria Conlon was a guard for the UConn Huskies from 2000 –
2004. While at UConn her team went to four National
Collegiate Athletic Association Tournaments winning three
Championships and four Big East regular season titles, and
established an NCAA women’s basketball record with 70
consecutive wins. Maria will be providing her
basketball knowledge to our scheduled basketball skills
video showcases in Connecticut.

Juan
"Tiny" Cains - Girls Basketball and Puerto
Rico Director of Operations
Worked as an analyst for
ESPN International’s broadcasts of basketball, bowling
and bodybuilding. In addition to his work with ESPN,
which began in March 1997, Cains has also worked as a
Spanish-language game analyst on the MSG Network, for
Los Knicks en Español on Radio WADO NY, and covering the
St. John’s University Red Storm.
Prior to joining ESPN, Cains spent more than 23 years
working in Puerto Rico’s private high school system as a
health & fitness teacher and coach. As a basketball,
volleyball and baseball coach, his experience spans
virtually every level including junior high, high school
and the Puerto Rico Basketball Federation and Basketball
clubs.
Among other notable achievements, Cains notched over 13
years as a scout, coach and assistant coach in the BSN (Baloncesto
Superior Nacional), Puerto Rico’s Pro League, and spent
six years as the head scout of the Puerto Rico National
Basketball Team and another three as a scout in Latin
America for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. He also
spent two years as head instructor in charge of certifying junior
coaches for the Sports and Recreation Department in
Puerto Rico. |

Kyle
McIntosh - Football, Director of HIT Football Camps
Kyle is one of the all time
greats at Cheshire High and the State of Connecticut and
while at Syracuse University he surpassed Jim Brown on the
school’s all time rushing list. While at Cheshire his
teams won three state championships, he was a high school
football all-american, sixth all time leading rusher in CT
and recruited by every major division 1A team in the
nation. While at Syracuse his teams won three Big East
Championships, currently ranked 11th all time on their
rushing list, named 1997 Walter Camp CT Player of the
Year. Kyle had a tryout with the Detroit Lions and played
professionally for three years in Europe. Kyle brings his
high school, Div I and professional football knowledge
back to Connecticut high school football players with
H.I.T. camps. |

Bob
Fiore - Swimming
Swim Team Coach, YMCA of
Cheshire, 1991-2005
Coached all levels and ages at the Cheshire YMCA program.
Including beginner swimmers through National Championship
swimmers. Ages ranged from 5 to 18. The Cheshire YMCA had
tremendous success not only in National events but in
helping every swimmer reach their potential.

Danielle
Bishop - Field Hockey, Track and Field, Maine and the
Northeast
Field Hockey - Mercy high
school varsity coach, Middletown, CT. Danielle has coached
at Mercy High School for 5 years. Four years experience as
the assistant field hockey coach and she is going into her
second season as head coach. Field hockey player since 6th
grade and played varsity all 4 years in high school and
captained her high school team. Played Futures for 3
years. Played at Keene State College before her career
ended due to a knee injury.
Track and Field - Maine state champion for the high jump
in indoor and outdoor and competed in the regional Junior
Olympics in Queens, NY where she placed 1st in the high
jump and the team placed 6th in the 4x100. Daniells has
coached track and field at Mercy High School for two years
as both indoor and outdoor track and currently coaching
outdoor track at Middletown High School.
Danielle graduated from Keene State College in 2005 with a
degree in Physical Education with honors.

Whitney
Burns - Softball and Field Hockey, Maine and the
Northeast
Whitney is a native of Maine
where she attended Skowhegan High School. She was a
three-sport varsity athlete playing Field Hockey,
Softball, and Basketball. Whitney was part of the Futures
program for Field Hockey for 3 years and captain of the
1998 Maine State Championship team her senior year at
Skowhegan High. Coach Burns played on her high schools
softball varsity team for three years. Her junior year the
softball team was the Eastern Maine runners up.
In basketball Whitney was a
four-year varsity player and was also a part of AAU
playing for the Maine Northstars. Her AAU team attended
the national tournament all three years she participated.
Since her high school career Whitney graduated from
Quinnipiac University and University of New Haven. She is
the assistant coach at Mercy High School in Connecticut
for Field Hockey and is entering her second year coaching
there this season. |

Pete
Asadourian - Men's Basketball
Head Men’s Basketball Coach at
Rocky Hill High School, (Rocky Hill, CT) and Co Founder of
the Above The Rim Foundation, (Foundation that produces
scholarships for students). In Pete’s first year as Head
Coach in 2001-2002 he led his basketball team to a State
Championship. He left Rocky Hill in 2005 to serve as the
Strength and Conditioning Coach for Quinnipiac University
Men’s basketball team. He has left Quinnipiac and is again
the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Rocky Hill High School.
Pete’s training and coaching
style is to motivate and get the most out of his athletes
in the weight room and on the field of play. He has over
17 years of High School, College and Professional Coaching
experience. While training and preparing his athletes he
instills the values of hard work, mental toughness and
intensity within his athletes. Pete is the Owner/Founder

Heather
Borges - Women's Basketball, New Hampshire and the
Northeast
Heather is a New Hampshire
native who attended Hillsboro-Deering High School, Catawba
College and New England College. Heather has been
dedicated to the sport of basketball throughout her life
and began coaching while she was a high school student.
Since that time Heather has coached at New England
College, ConVal Regional High School, and Nashua High
School. She has experience coaching both male and female
athletes.
Heather is a co-founder of the
New Hampshire Bombers organization and has coached the
oldest female team since the organization's start. As
coach of this team Heather has played a crucial role in
assisting many players in gaining scholarships to play
college basketball. Heather has developed a reputation
with college coaches throughout the Northeast and beyond
and is dedicated to getting devoted basketball players to
the school that is the best fit for them. |
